The one and only, Glastonbury Festival is finally here, and we’ve sorted out everything you need for the perfect weekend
The end of June marks one of the biggest festivals in the UK’s calendar, Glastonbury.
Will the notoriously muddy festival be in for a dry spell this year? Who are the biggest clashes? Should you bring your wellies? (Yes, the answer is always yes to that one). We’ve got all the answers everything you need to know in one place.
This year Foo Fighters (postponed from 2015 after Dave Grohl broke his leg), Ed Sheeran and Radiohead will be heading down to Worthy Farm to headline the legendary Somerset festival.
With only a couple of days left until Michael Eavis and his daughter, Emily Eavis have open their doors once again, we’ve made it easy for you and put everything you need to know – it’s the size of a small town so a little prep will go a long way this time.
When is Glastonbury 2017?
Glastonbury opened its doors on the 21st June and will continue until the 26th. The music will start to kick off from Thursday 22nd with main stages opening on Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th.
How can I get tickets for 2017?
Unfortunately, you can’t, Glastonbury sold out last October, and again in the resale in April.
Registration will open again after the festival, you’ll find more information here .
Tickets are only available from SeeTickets and come with photo identification, so don’t fall victim to fakes.
Who’s performing at Glastonbury?
The line up this year is huge! Ed Sheeran, Radiohead, and Foo Fighters headline alongside Katy Perry, Chic, Stormzy , Alt-J, Justice, Liam Gallagher and much more.

When are people on and what are the biggest clashes?
The performance schedule available on the Glastonbury EE app , which is free to download. It lets you plan your own line app, which you’ll need with thousands of acts and alerts you when acts are about to start. It’s available for Android and IOS . The app also includes a map and other handy features such as a find my tent feature.
There are some pretty clashes this year too. Here are some of the biggest we’re stuck between…
- Radiohead or Dizzee Rascal?
- The Jacksons or Foo Fighters?
- BBK or Kano?
- Ed Sheeran or Justice?
- George Ezra or XX?
- Busted or Craig David?
What’s the weather forecast?
You can check the weather on the Met Office ‘s website, which has a dedicated Glastonbury Festival page. At the moment it’s looking pretty hot, but Glastonbury’s weather has already been notoriously changeable so check back here at a later date.
What to pack?
This year new advice has been issued, light. Of course bring all the usual festival essentials, tent, wellies, anorak, clothes etc. But if you are deciding whether or not to bring something, don’t. Glastonbury has warned that there is likely to be longer queues than ever before.
It’s also worth noting that Glastonbury is a glass free festival (it’s a working farm the rest of the year, think of the poor cow’s feet) so decant those drinks.

Finally, where am I going?
One of the most important things to know is where you’re actually going. And you’ve got a couple of options. You can find the location and more information about how to get there on Glastonbury’s website . A number of coach schemes such as National Express will also get you straight to the gates.
