Chester Bennington’s cause of death has been revealed
Linkin Park‘s frontman Chester Bennington was found dead last week and now the cause of death has been confirmed.
The 41-year-old singer reportedly committed suicide last week and now the coroner has announced he died by hanging. The singer had struggled with depression and alcohol addiction throughout his life and was found with half a bottle of alcohol nearby. There was no sign of drug abuse but it has been confirmed a suicide note was found.
The singer had spoken out previously about his mental health issues and his battle with addiction. Shortly before his death, the singer had discussed seeking help for his problems.
He said: “My whole life, I’ve just felt a little off, I find myself getting into these patterns of behaviour or thought – especially when I’m stuck up here [in my head]; I like to say that ‘this is like a bad neighbourhood, and I should not go walking alone’”
He continued “Most of my problems are problems that I cause myself. That’s what that song’s about – that time when you consciously look at that. Once you acknowledge what it is, you can separate yourself from it and do something about it, as opposed to just being in it.”
Since the ‘Good Goodbye‘ singer’s death tributes have been shared by a number of artists and friends including; Stormzy, Rihanna, Zane Lowe and more. Read some of their kind words of support here.
