Here’s everything you need to know about Lady Gaga’s horrifying illness

Lady Gaga has never shied away from talking about matters that need global attention. Recently, she released her documentary Lady Gaga: Five Foot Two at the Toronto Film Festival where she opened up about her struggle with Fibromyalgia. The sole aim of the documentary was to raise awareness among people so that the disease gets the attention it deserves.

The singer wanted to take the opportunity to connect with others who suffer the same pain as her, every single day. She believes that if one is blessed with the ability to inspire millions, they should use it wisely and for the greater good. Right after releasing the documentary, Gaga took to her Twitter account to motivate people to come forward and talk about this disease.

Fibromyalgia is a disease that is characterized by widespread muscle pain and tenderness. The disease is quite common with nearly 10 million cases reported every year. Fibromyalgia causes muscle pain throughout the body and includes other symptoms such as fatigue, altered sleep patterns, memory loss, and mood disturbances. This disease is likely to affect more women than men and sometimes it is accompanied by tension headaches, anxiety or depression.

There is no clear evidence of what is the root cause of the disease is. However, research has suggested that there may be numerous other components that trigger this disease. Some of them are genetic, if someone else in the family suffers from the disease there is a likelihood of it passing on to the next generation. At the same time, any sort of physical or emotional trauma can also be one of the factors that trigger Fibromyalgia.

Currently, there is no cure for the disease but there are a number of treatments that are available. One can use medication (as prescribed by the doctor) to reduce the pain and uneasiness. One can also resort to exercise and rest in order to relieve the pain.
