Jorginho is one of the most respected athletes in soccer, having won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, defeating Manchester City in a major final.
Now a member of Flamengo back in his home country of Brazil, Jorginho is attempting to reconnect with his family following over a decade of playing in Europe with some of the top clubs on the continent.
But on Saturday, Jorginho is not in the news because of anything he did on the field.
The midfielder has called out someone on his personal social media account.
No, not another player. Or another team. Not even an athlete.
He’s angry at one person, and one person only: American musical artist Chappell Roan.

Jorginho went to Instagram to tell his side of a story that left his 11-year-old daughter in tears after an incident with the pop star.
“This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire: Chappell Roan,”penned Jorginho on Instagram. “By coincidence, they’re staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognised her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.
“And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything. What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people.”
The soccer legend went on to say that his daughter was shaken by the event and left in tears as the bodyguard continued to threaten action.
Jorginho then went on to talk about setting boundaries as a famed athlete, but Roan had crossed the line by being so callous towards a child who was a fan.
“I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection,” he ended his message to her on social media. “No one should have to go through this, especially not a child.”
