The End of an Era: Laurie Strode’s Final Chapter

Jamie Lee Curtis played Laurie Strode from 1978 to 2022.

The role ended with Halloween Ends in 2022 — four years after the final confrontation in the film’s timeline.

Curtis said she didn’t plan to think much about ending the role at first.

“Saying goodbye to Laurie Strode, to say goodbye to the fans who love Laurie Strode… it’s going to be sad. I guarantee you, end of next week, maybe over the weekend, there’s going to be a day where I’m just going to be a puddle.”

The film closes a trilogy led by director David Gordon Green.

How the Trilogy Came to Be

Green’s version began with Halloween (2018), which Curtis reteamed with him for.

At the time, Curtis told E! News, no official trilogy was announced.

They only discussed one film.

“That was a very freeing experience,” she said. “Getting a taste of the way David worked was like remembering, ‘Oh, s–t! This is fun!'”

The film earned $256 million worldwide.

What Followed: A Trilogy of Fear and Fun

Green’s trilogy followed the original 1978 film.

It included Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022).

The films focused on character depth and emotional stories.

Why Michael Myers Still Haunts Us

Michael Myers first appeared in 1978.

He wears coveralls and a white mask — a man-demon of pure terror.

He has remained a consistent figure across decades.

His fear comes not just from violence — it’s about the unknown and the unstoppable.

What This Means for Fans and the Industry

For fans, ending Laurie Strode’s story is a major milestone.

It closes a chapter without erasing the franchise’s impact.

Curtis has since won an Oscar in 2023 and an Emmy in 2024.

The Halloween legacy endures in cultural memory.
